MARRIED!

I thought that it would be fitting to have my first post on my blog to be about getting married, seeing as how its starting a new life and all. Calia and I were married at the Riu Ocho Rios in Jamaica on December 18th. For me, it was absolutely amazing. We landed in Jamaica on the 14th in Montego Bay, and rode in a bus (going crazy fast on the left side of the road) for about two hours. Over the next few days we enjoyed the beach, ate a lot of amazing food (I think I ate 9 lobster tails in one sitting), greeted our guests, and enjoyed each others company. We also had several meetings, one with a funjet vacation representative telling us about different trips we could take, and another with our wedding coordinator. The only real black-spot of the trip was that Cali's mom's flight was canceled and she showed up JUST in time for the wedding. We actually delayed the start of the wedding for a little while, which turned out to be fine, because that way we got to have our pictures at sunset. The actual wedding was by far my favorite part. I was standing in the lobby waiting for Cali's mom to show up, and Cali didn't really know what was going on, so she sent a message for me to just go down to the beach so we could get started. It was really all rather confusing, but at the LAST second, her mom showed up, and I took off for the beach with my parents and my cousin Josh. Pretty much right after we got there, Cali and her dad started coming down the steps (I didn't see, I had my back turned)...but when she was almost there, I turned around and saw the most beautiful girl in the world. Her dress was absolutely perfect, and tears came to my eyes when I saw her. The wedding was great, even the part where the judge dropped one of Cali's rings in the sand. I loved being married on the beach...the ocean in the background, a cool breeze blowing in from the ocean....a dead fish hanging on a tree they tried to get me to lean on. Pretty much perfect! Neither of us wanted to leave the island...and we both still really want to go back. I really wouldn't have changed anything (except maybe getting her mom there a little earlier).
